Intellectual property management plan
1. Plan Objectives:
Bioteque Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) has long aligned with government policies promoting the biotechnology industry and is committed to developing advanced medical consumable products that not only substitute imports but also expand into international markets.
To safeguard its hard-earned technological achievements, the Company has formulated the “Intellectual Property Management Plan” (hereinafter referred to as “the Plan”), which integrates the Company’s operational goals and resources. This Plan aims to establish a management model that creates corporate value through intellectual property rights (IPR), promote correct awareness of IP management among employees, and provide a clear framework for IP-related operations. It also ensures the protection of the Company’s rights and competitive advantages while avoiding infringement of others’ rights.
Upon approval by the Board of Directors, the Company will regularly report the Plan’s implementation status to the Board at least once a year.
2.Intellectual Property Management Strategies:
- Trade Secret Protection:
Trade secrets are critical to the Company’s competitive advantages in technological leadership, manufacturing excellence, and customer trust. They represent not only specific intellectual assets but also serve as the Company’s main form of IP protection.
To comprehensively and effectively manage trade secrets, the Company will engage professional consultants to assist in the phased introduction of the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS). The first phase will prioritize the implementation of a Trade Secret Management System, recording and integrating trade secrets that provide competitive advantages to the Company. - Trademark Protection:
For over 30 years, the Company has marketed its proprietary brands globally across more than 80 countries, complemented by its CDMO/OEM strategies.
Under professional consultation, the second phase of TIPS introduction will focus on establishing a Trademark Management System to build a comprehensive trademark management framework. This system will cover pre-naming risk assessment, trademark design documentation, trademark portfolio management, compliance in trademark use, and infringement risk control. - Enhancing Patent Quality and Protection Measures
The Company has long encouraged technological innovation and patent applications through its Patent Incentive Program.
Under professional consultation, the third phase of TIPS implementation will introduce a Patent Management System to improve patent quality and visibility. Together with the Trade Secret Management System, it will establish a robust management structure that effectively protects the Company’s R&D outcomes and maintains its technological leadership.
