Greenhouse Gas Inventory

In response to national greenhouse gas (GHG) management policies and global net-zero emission initiatives, Bioteque Corporation has voluntarily promoted greenhouse gas inventory activities since 2023. Third-party verification for Yilan Plant No. 2 was completed in Q4 2023. The inventory results serve as the basis for subsequently promoting emission reduction initiatives and setting reduction targets. Going forward, the inventory will be expanded to include the headquarters, all domestic plants, and overseas facilities, and product carbon footprint initiatives will be further promoted.

Bioteque Corporation has designated 2024 as the baseline year for its greenhouse gas inventory, for the following reasons: although a greenhouse gas inventory was first conducted by internal experts in 2022 and verified by a third party, the organizational boundary was expanded in 2023 to include the Taipei headquarters and the Yike Plant. In 2024, the Yike Plant obtained its operating permits and officially commenced mass production. Therefore, 2024 has been set as the baseline year for greenhouse gas inventory.

According to the 2023 greenhouse gas inventory results for the Bioteque Corporation Taipei Office, Yilan Plant No. 2, and Yike Plant, Categories 1–2 were dominated by CO₂ emissions (94.53%), followed by CH₄ emissions (1.58%). Categories 3–5 consisted entirely of CO₂ emissions (100.00%). The total greenhouse gas emissions across all facilities amounted to 13,614.628 metric tons of CO₂e. No greenhouse gas removals were recorded during this period.

The Company is committed to effectively managing energy use within its facilities and conducting regular greenhouse gas inventories in 2024. Based on the inventory results, Bioteque Corporation will actively promote various emission reduction measures and, through continuous improvement plans and actions, reduce the environmental and climate impacts of greenhouse gas emissions contributing to global warming.
