Water Resource Use and Management

Bont Biotechnology operates in areas classified as having low to moderate water stress. The primary source of water is the municipal water supply system. In accordance with the Water Pollution Control Act and relevant regulations, the Company implements proper procedures for water withdrawal, discharge, and water quality reporting.

Wastewater Treatment and Discharge

The Company has legally obtained water pollution control permits. All wastewater generated at the Yilan Second Plant is properly treated through on-site wastewater treatment facilities and is fully discharged into the Longde Industrial Park sewer system, where it is treated at the Longde Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant. Wastewater generated at the Yilan Science Park Plant is also properly treated through on-site wastewater treatment facilities and fully discharged into the Yilan Science Park sewer system, where it is treated at the Yilan Science Park Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In addition to daily operations and monitoring, the Company conducts regular operational inspections, water quality testing, and reporting to the competent authorities to ensure the effectiveness and transparency of the overall treatment process.
In compliance with regulations, the Company performs self-monitoring and commissions external water quality testing to strengthen risk identification and operational management. As of the end of 2024, there have been no major wastewater discharge incidents causing environmental pollution, demonstrating the robustness and effectiveness of the wastewater management system.

Wastewater Management Practices

Both the Yilan Second Plant and the Yilan Science Park Plant have established separate systems for rainwater and wastewater. Wastewater treatment tanks have been installed, and approved discharge outlets have been authorized by the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau. Treated wastewater is discharged into the sewer management systems of the respective industrial parks for further treatment.

• Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) self-monitoring is conducted quarterly to ensure wastewater quality meets sewer discharge standards.
• Semiannually, qualified third-party testing laboratories are commissioned to conduct water quality testing and analysis, with results duly reported in accordance with regulations. All monitoring results have met applicable regulatory sewer standards.
